A simple sparkler. My brother bought fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July at our family gathering. My dad and I were up at 6:30am baking and cooking for the occasion that started at 3pm. The sun set at 8:51pm, and the last of the fireworks from the family collection went off at 10pm.
A long day measured in hugs, errands, leftovers, and cars retreating down the drive. We were all missing someone who was with us only last year.
A simple sparkler in her honor, because she shone brightly while she was here.
